Following the sacking of Quique Sanchez Flores just 85 days into his second stint at the helm, the club are hopeful of appointing a new head coach within 24 hours. Flores, who previously was Watford's manager in 2015-16, took over on September 7 after Watford fired Javi Garcia following a lousy start to the 2019-20 season.

He oversaw five league defeats - including an 8-0 humbling by champions Manchester City - and his last game in charge was Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Southampton.

"Quique is a man of great integrity and it was clear how much he wanted to have a positive impact, but ultimately results have dictated our decision", said Watford chairman and CEO Scott Duxbury.

It's unclear at this stage who the Hornets bring on as coach, but a veteran manager with experience in keeping teams afloat like Sam Allardyce or Chris Hughton would make sense.

Flores' only other victory in his 12 matches at the club was against Swansea in the Carabao Cup.

Joshua has no intention of retiring, win or lose. "Everything is just hope, hope in the moment". Boxing is a hard , unsafe game. "I can't let him grow balls in there".

Fellow Spaniard Gracia had been in charge for 21 months - making him the first Hornets boss to last more than one full season since Zola.

He is the fourth manager to be fired this Premier League season after Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham, Unai Emery at Arsenal and Javi Gracia at Watford.

Watford is on eight points, six from safety, in its fifth straight season in the top division.

Flores was previously in charge of the club during the 2015-16 season, after which he was surprisingly sacked.
