"The Blackhawks will be conducting a thorough review of Marc based on the recent allegations that have been made regarding his conduct with another organization", a team statement said.

The Chicago Blackhawks are investigating assistant coach Marc Crawford just days after former NHLer Sean Avery told The Post that Crawford kicked him on the bench while the two were members of the Los Angeles Kings over a decade ago.

The team said it will have no further comment until the review is completed. "Crawford was the Kings' head coach at the time".

After Chicago announced its probe, Avery posted on Twitter that Crawford "was a demanding coach who would actually fight for his players". "He didn't ask me to serve him, they marked us and he let me have him".

Will it be a sixth Ballon d'Or for Lionel Messi?
This time we only saw Karim Benzema shortlisted in the 26th position, clearly the best Real Madrid player during the last months. It's the most prestigious individual honour in football - and tonight the Ballon d'Or will be handed over to a new victor .

Marc Crawford has long held a reputation for being a hard, fiery coach to play for.

O'Sullivan's comments came as the Calgary Flames fired coach Bill Peters following accusations of being violent and directing racial slurs toward players.

"I understand the reason for a review", Colliton said after Monday night's 4-0 loss to St. Louis. He was the interim head coach for Ottawa at the end of last season.

Crawford was a party to a lawsuit stemming from a 2004 on-ice incident involving Vancouver Canucks forward Todd Bertuzzi and Colorado Avalanche forward Steve Moore, according to TSN. Brent Sopel, a member of the 2010 Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks team, told the popular Spittin' Chiclets podcast past year that Crawford regularly berated him verbally, and that he "kicked me, choked me". Others claimed Peters kicked and punched players behind the bench during his recent time with Carolina. Crawford, who won a Stanley Cup as head coach with Colorado in 1996, came back to the National Hockey League a couple of years ago after coaching Toronto superstar Auston Matthews in Zurich, Switzerland.
