He fed MacKinnon on his 17th of the season, and scored his sixth goal of the season to make it 5-1 and chase Chicago goaltender Robin Lehner.

The ferocious speed of the Avalanche wore down the Blackhawks and dismantled their defensive zone coverage.

Missing the last 16 games after suffering a lower-body injury on October 21 against the Blues, the 23-year-old winger put together a four-point effort in the landslide win - and he only played two periods.

"Very fast team", Kane said. "But teams across the league play with guys shorthanded".

"Well obviously getting Mikko back is helping us a lot", Donskoi said on his line's performance Saturday. He quickly contributed and collected a template for Kadri's first goal, which brought the game together.

Colorado Avalanche left wing J.T. Compher (37) celebrates with Nathan MacKinnon (29) after scoring against the Chicago Blackhawks during the second period at United Center. That ended Lehner's night, having allowed five goals on 14 shots. Crawford saved 13 of 15 shots to finish the game after coming in with 5:50 remaining in the second period. He had a goal and three assists halfway through the game at the Pepsi Center as Colorado scored seven consecutive goals to take a commanding six-goal lead. "He's an unbelievable player and was making great plays tonight, so we were able to find the back of the net tonight pretty good".

Eventually, police say the officer was forced to fire at the student when he would not remove his hands from his pocket. Waukesha police and sheriff's deputies soon arrived at the school and tried to de-escalate the situation to no avail.

Rantanen, who is making a team-high $12 million this season, did not play in the third period, presumably for precautionary reasons. He is still so young that he will feel much better.

"I felt good going out there and they score three pretty good ones real quick", Lehner said. Chicago has given up 15 power-play goals, killing 80.8% of opponent chances.

"I don't think you're really thinking about [the point streak] at that point", Kane said.

Frustration boiled over for Alex DeBrincat, who dropped the gloves with Sam Girard towards the end of the first period, giving the Hawks their second fight in two games.

Rantanen had a goal and three assists when he returned to the Colorado lineup after 16 injury-related defeats. I would say there are some things you try to do differently to prepare yourself. He needed just a few minutes to show he was hadn't missed a beat. "Just kind of happened".
