Huskers, Gophers Host NCAA Events

The Noles and Knights will play each other in Gainesville on Thursday at 4:30 p.m., as No. 10 Florida (25-4) will host Alabama State (17-21) later in the evening at 7:00 p.m. The other matchup in Lexington will have Northern Kentucky facing MI.

Overall, BU is 6-7 all-time in NCAA tournament play after advancing to the second round the past three seasons.

"You're just always honored to get the chance to host an NCAA Tournament", UK head coach Craig Skinner said, according to a news release by the school.

The Huskers, making their 38th straight NCAA Tournament appearance, will open the tournament on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. against the Ball State Cardinals (20-11), champions of the Mid-American Conference.

Baylor, Texas, Stanford and Wisconsin received the top four seeds from the NCAA Tournament committee.

The Hilltoppers' first-round opponent in Diddle Arena on Thursday is Kennesaw State. The victor of those two matches will meet in the second round on Friday, December 6 at 7:00 p.m. However, a loss in the MAC Tournament semifinals took away an opportunity for an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
