But, our sights are set on Qualcomm's first-ever chipsets with an integrated 5G modem - the Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G. For what's worth, Xiaomi recently confirmed that there will be a 5G Redmi-branded phone slated to launch in 2020. For instance, devices in China, the U.S. and Europe can use the same platform even if the 5G approaches are different. The companies planned to announce the news at a Qualcomm conference being held in Hawaii. The Snapdragon 865 AI Engine includes a new Qualcomm Hexagon Tensor accelerator that's twice as fast relative to its predecessor.

It's not only just Apple's A13 Bionic chipset who is claiming victory over the SD 865 but also Samsung's Exynos 9825 chipset, which managed a single-core score of 4,500. Other perks includes Qualcomm apX Voice for super wide band voice over Bluetooth. The new Snapdragon 865 supports up to 200-megapixel camera sensors, so we should expect some insane smartphones next year with 200MP cameras that will blow us away, again.

In fact, this chip will support two Gigapixels per second which means 8K video can be filmed at a pretty astounding 30fps.

Not every Snapdragon 855 phone has come with 5G so far, in fact only a relatively small subset of devices running on Qualcomm's current chipset are compatible with next-generation networks. After all, mid-tier devices will push 5G to more people than premium devices. Qualcomm says it should work with any key spectrum band, in any region.

If the Snapdragon 865 is the expected news, then the Snapdragon 765 is the wildcard of the week.

CFIUS could force ByteDance to divest TikTok's U.S. operations if it is found that the company poses a national-security threat. Videos in particular, often taken closely, would profile the faces of users for facial recognition purposes.

For smartphone computational photography fans, Qualcomm's 765 platform's multi-camera capture will enable telephoto, wide and ultrawide lenses without additional equipment.

The Snapdragon 765 looks to continue that trend. Qualcomm is also promising to bring "desktop features to mobile gaming", something we're hoping to hear more about during the week.

Here we see that the 765 and 765G will have a Qualcomm Spectra 355 ISP, an Adreno 620 GPU, and a Hexagon 696 DSP.

At the time, Alen Wu, Oppo vice president, didn't reveal any details about what those devices might be, but Oppo has subsequently confirmed that it will be launching the Oppo Reno3 Pro on the new Snapdragon 765G platform.
