Until he finds out that the reason his life isn't meaningful is because he's in an open-world video game, and he's not a player character.

The Deadpool actor told the crowd, "We really wanted to bring to the world a modern day Back to the Future for modern generations".

"Free Guy is my favorite movie I've ever made", he added, "and that means a lot to me because I made Deadpool". That stands for "non-player character" and is what the people in games who are essentially computer generated extras are called.

Ryan Reynolds isn't even a mission delivering NPC in Free Guy, he's just a background character who has now made a decision to take control of his own destiny. Starring Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi, "Free Guy" is directed by Shawn Levy from a story by Matt Lieberman and a screenplay by Lieberman and Zak Penn.

Comer's character replies: "Well enjoy your lifetime supply of virginity, off you go!"
