The opera is the latest project in which West has embraced his Christianity, as he has staged his Sunday Service gospel performances across the US, and is reportedly planning to team up with preacher Joel Osteen to stage a huge sermon at New York's Yankee Stadium in the coming months.

The rapper performed with members of the Sunday School collective choir, all of them also covered in silver.

The press release describes the show as "an original opera, based on the biblical story of the miraculous events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ".

West was reportedly one hour late for this performance, and he didn't take the stage until 4:00 p.m.

Popular American rapper Kanye West stepped out in head-to-toe chrome for his Opera show, Mary, which took place at Miami Marine Stadium.

This brand new opera comes only a short amount of time after the grandiose occurrence that was his operatic debut, Nebuchadnezzar. Pitchfork reports Mary featured new arrangements of older Kanye songs, including "Devil in a New Dress", "Love Lockdown", "Power", "I Thought About Killing You", and "Can't Tell Me Nothing". And, the opera was all about Christmas history and included traditional songs like Oh holy night, Glory in Excelsis Deo, and Little Drummer.

A select few performers donned a different colored robe, including the woman who portrayed the Virgin Mary-hers was a glittering seafoam green. As in Nebuchadnezzar, Kanye read, according to gospel passages, and the cast played excerpts from the books of Matthew and Luke.
