Awards nominees were just announced, and Adam Driver was nominated for his role in Marriage Story! But, as we saw past year when Regina King missed a SAG nom but went on to win an Oscar, the SAG awards are not always an essential stepping stone to Oscar glory.

"The Irishman" has also been honoured with four nominations, including Cast in a Motion Picture.

The World War II-set dramedy picked up a nomination for Scarlett Johansson in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, and another for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

The nominations for the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards are in and we have all the reaction from this year's nominees.

Notably missing out on the best ensemble nomination was Noah Baumbach's divorce drama "Marriage Story", which on Monday led the Golden Globe nominations with six nods. Johansson was nominated in that category, as well, for her performance in "Jojo Rabbit". Critical reception has been mixed for "Bombshell", a starry dramatization about the culture of sexual harassment at Fox News.

Canadian sitcom Schitt's Creek also landed two nods: best comedy series ensemble and best actress in a comedy series for Catherine O'Hara. Those picks omitted Saoirse Ronan ("Little Women") and Awkwafina ("The Farewell").

Tom Hanks ("A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood") and Jamie Foxx ("Just Mercy") were nominated for best male actor in a supporting role. Bombshell pulled off a particular feat, with each of its main three stars - Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie, and Nicole Kidman - nominated; The Irishman was not able to pull off the same trifecta, with Robert De Niro snubbed, as he was in the Golden Globe nominations, while Al Pacino and Joe Pesci earned nods for their supporting roles.

On the TV side of things, genre dominated the stunt category with Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, The Walking Dead, and Watchmen earning nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble.
