Over the past decade or so, being traded to the Browns was one of the worst fates an National Football League player could suffer and it appeared the Giants were trying to send a message when they opted to ship Odell Beckham Jr. off to Cleveland in the offseason, as the wide receiver went on record as saying "They thought they'd send me here to die". "I mean, there's all the rumors going around, but I have my conversations with him, and I know what we talk about".

"It's been addressed and [Mayfield] understands how to handle things like that moving forward".

After the game, Mayfield called out the Browns' training staff, suggesting that if Beckham had undergone surgery before the season, he and the team might have been in better shape.

"He's fighting through pain and is showing you how much he really wants to win", Mayfield said. It wasn't handled the right way in our training room.

Strong said he could "barely walk" by the time the third preseason game came around, and he believes the Browns used the injury as an excuse to cut him after their rigorous practice schedule contributed to his condition. It is what it is. Just like he stated last night, he understands that we do not want him addressing other player's injuries in that manner especially.

The second-year quarterback later apologized for his comments, tweeting Sunday evening that his intentions were "not to throw our medical staff under the bus". But he did say there's been no discussion about shutting Beckham down, even though the 6-7 Browns are now a long shot to make the playoffs. "Odell is doing a great job".

Kitchens maintains that Beckham - who reportedly wants out of Cleveland - is "helping the team". Kitchens replied, when asked about it. "I think that's where the frustration comes from and we can sense that".
