An angry Ronaldo pushed the fan away before security staff intervened.

Gianluigi Buffon praised Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonzalo Hijuain for leading the way in Juventus' 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Wednesday.

After the final whistle, a fan ran on to the pitch and put his arm around Ronaldo as he tried to get a selfie. Unfortunately for the fan, he did not get a pleasant reaction from the superstar. It was just an unfortunate moment for the fan considering Ronaldo had hugged another fan, who invaded the pitch just after the 38-year-old had scored Juve's first goal.

Peter Bosz's side had the best of the chances in the first half but Ronaldo tapped home from Paulo Dybala's cross in the 75th minute and Higuain drilled into the bottom-right corner in stoppage time to send the hosts into the Europa League.

Juventus had already qualified for the knockout stages before the clash against Leverkusen and the victory confirmed the Italians as Group D winners.

Ronaldo has bagged only two goals in the group stages of the competition this season, along with seven strikes in 12 Serie A games so far this campaign.

"I feel very good physically and mentally, as if we face the games this way, I am sure we can all do great things. I have more confidence and hope to continue like this".

'Real Madrid are an extraordinary team, but I'd rather see them later.

They are now being tipped as contenders for the crown under former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri with Ronaldo aiming to win his sixth Champions League crown.
