Tesla's plan to spend $2 billion-$2.5 billion in the first half of 2017 in capital expenditures ahead of the July Model 3 launch left little cushion with $3.39 billion on the books in cash and cash equivalents at the end of 2016.

Last month Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the Tesla auto Assembly plot was selected in Grünheide, Brandenburg.

Musk, already the company's top shareholder with a stake of about 21 percent as of December, bought 95,420 common shares for $25 million in the latest stock sale, Tesla said.

Another person said that she loved the story of how Musk's mother had told them about her son's promise of buying her a new auto. The Tesla CEO further wrote that how he fixed the auto himself by picking fix parts from junkyards.

Musk noted that, in his pre-billionaire days, he couldn't afford to pay for a mechanic to fix his vehicle, so he did it himself with junkyard parts. In reply to his mother's tweet, Musk confirmed that the vehicle in the photo is his BMW 320i. He then alluded to the recent window glass incident at Tesla's Cybertruck launch event, writing, "Ironically, that's me replacing broken side window glass". "I hotrodded it by jamming in a 5 speed transmission from a later model I found in a Philly junkyard when the 4 speed transmission failed". "The circle is complete lol". However, the window did break when a Tesla executive threw something at it and hence Musk pointing out the irony in the picture.

When he isn't building wacko conceptualizations of electric pickup trucks or selling flamethrowers to the public, Elon Musk is a busy man on Twitter. "They smashed the window to steal the radio, which was worth maybe $20".
