"Typically we see influenza A, this early in the season", Schlosser said.

Both of the people who died were elderly, said Bill Smith, county Department of Health director. The only case numbers available are generated from emergency room visits by people with flu-like symptoms and the number of patients treated.

The worst may be yet to come.

Both Indiana and MI are on track to approach the flu activity levels seen back during the 2017-18 flu season, which was the worst and most deadly flu season in many decades.

"Everyone six months and older should be vaccinated, regardless of health status", said Levi Schlosser, influenza surveillance coordinator with the health department.

State health officials say there is widespread flu activity across Alabama.

Children's Wisconsin will not allow visitors under the age of 12 at the Milwaukee hospital, Fox Valley hospital, and the Surgicenter for the remainder of flu season.

Still no evidence linking Bill Belichick to Patriots videotaping
In 2007 the Patriots were fined $750,000 and a first-round draft choice for improperly recording an opponent's sideline. There is a chance they could strip the team of a draft pick or drop one of their draft picks to later in the round.

Influenza B is the predominant virus circulating in Central New York. It can be seen that it has surpassed the peak of 2014-15 and is close to hitting the deadliest season.

Since it is a viral infection, antibiotics would not work on flu.

"Studies have shown that if someone still gets sick but is vaccinated, they may have less severe illness, reduce their risk of being hospitalized, and spend fewer days in the hospital when they are hospitalized", said Schlosser.

Almost 2,000 North Dakotans have had the flu so far, and the numbers are spiking. "The vaccine is the most effective way to prevent influenza".

So far this season there have been 3,592 flu-related hospitalizations across the state.

The CDC also stresses that it's not too late to get a flu vaccine.
