It appears some of these cases aren't charging up iPhones properly, or aren't charging up properly themselves - so if yours hasn't been working as it should, then it's worth checking if you have a device that's eligible for a replacement. The Cupertino giant has launched the Smart Battery Case Replacement Program for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR phones, and users can head to any authorised service provider to get it replaced free of charge. If you have further questions, you can contact Apple Support.

Service options are split between making an appointment at an Apple Store or finding an authorized service provider.

The company may restrict the replacement process for customers in the original country or region of purchase. Smart Battery Cases will be examined prior to service to verify that they are eligible for the program. Newly-purchased iPhone battery cases should not feature any defects. The company will dispose of all malfunctioning Smart Battery Cases in an environmentally friendly way.
