Wil Wheaton to Host 'Star Trek: Picard' After-Show 'The Ready Room'

Star Trek: Picard premieres Thursday, Jan. 23 on CBS All Access.

"We are excited to announce a second season before the series premieres and we are confident that veteran Star Trek fans and new viewers will be hooked by the stellar cast and the fantastic story meticulously manufactured by the creative team that will debut on September 23". For season two of the series, Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Michael Chabon, Patrick Stewart, Terry Matalas (12 Monkeys, MacGyver), Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers; Aaron Baiers (Secret Hideout) and Kirsten Beyer serve as co-executive producers. But with Picard in the show's very title, you'd have to assume that, at the very least, Patrick Stewart would be returning.

Following his role on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Wheaton has appeared on television series Supergirl, The Big Bang Theory, Dark Matter, and Eureka.

In addition to the brand new ensemble, the primary season will see Stewart's Picard joined by an array of acquainted faces equivalent to "Quantity One" himself, Jonathan Frakes's William Riker, Marina Sirtis's Deanna Troi and - regardless of assembly a sacrificial demise on the finish of 2002 film Star Trek: Nemesis - Brent Spiner's Information will play an element.
