Almost a month after a 14-year-old disappeared while walking to school, officials said his body was found trapped inside the chimney of a vacant home.

Harley Dilly, of Port Clinton, hadn't been seen since December 20, when he left for school but never arrived, investigators say. Hickman said it appeared Dilly climbed an antenna tower to the roof and entered the chimney. They added that Harley's jacket and glasses were found in a second-floor room in the house.

"Chief Hickman shouldered the weight of this investigation which has resulted in a tragic outcome for Port Clinton", Yost said in the statement. They already had looked around the outside of the house, which had been locked and had no signs of a forced entry, Hickman said.

'We were then able to discover what we believe to be Harley, who was caught in the chimney.

Dilly's family fully cooperated throughout the investigation, Hickman said previously.

The chimney was blocked between the first and second floors, and Harley became trapped inside.

"R.I.H. Harley Dilly and fly high, confirmed by the PD both out there and here in my town" she wrote with seven emojis of a crying face.

He is being interrogated by various intelligence agencies, including IB, military intelligence and RAW, besides the police. He refused to divulge details of the ongoing investigation in the case but said the case would be probed from all angles.

On Saturday, over 100 members of the community volunteered to conduct their own search, according to the "Search Party of Harley Dilly" Facebook group.

Police also had asked residents to review their home security footage, hoping that might offer clues about what happened.

Hickman stated police and investigators found Dilly after they wanted to search the area again.

"This appears to be an accident", the police chief said.

¯ K-9 officers did search around the home early during the search for Harley. "At this time, Harley Dilly is still missing". "Since there is a lockbox and anyone can go in and out of the house, we went inside to check the house", said Hickman.

On Tuesday, state officials said the search for Harley Dilly has been canceled and the boy has been recovered.
