This is a monochrome camera - a camera which omits all color filters in favor of ultimate photo power in black and white. The predecessor to this camera in Leica's line of monochrome cameras is the Leica M - so that'll be replaced with this in the most current Leica lineup.

Another advantage for street photographers is that the M10 Monochrom inherits the same silent shutter as the Leica M10-P, which is good news because we find that the shutter is virtually inaudible.

Of course, the big final question is the price of the M10 Monochrom.

Even though the M10 Monochrom was only unveiled by Leica, you are already able to order the new camera from Leica Store Malaysia immediately.

The Leica M10, the Monochrom has a viewfinder, the display is 3 inches gained the protection of the standard Gorilla Glass. But there's no red dot on the just-announced M10 Monochrom, and as its name suggests, it only shoots in black and white. While reaching these new feats of resolving prowess, the new M10 Monochrom is even more versatile than its black-and-white forebears, with a broadened sensitivity range at both extremes, now achieving ISO 160 to ISO 100,000 - ensuring that its unmatched imaging strengths can be used in new avenues, from the brightest of days to uncovering light in the darkest of nights.

While a camera that captures only in black and white isn't going to be for everyone, there are some things Leica has included to keep it as modern as one of the other colour-capable cameras, too. And it's compatible with Leica M lenses, or Leica R with an optional adapter.

The design of the M10 Monochrom camera body is as loyal to the strict adherence to the black-and-white aesthetic as the image sensor that lives within it.

Essentially a rangefinder camera, Leica stated that the new M10 Monochrom comes with a new 40MP full-frame sensor that was designed specifically for black and white photography instead of being a modified colour sensor.

The new Leica M10 Monocrhom was released for sale today for $8,295 at Leica Stores, Boutiques, and Dealers.
