"We've listened to our fans and have made the definitive decision to stream our film catalog. We hope people around the world will discover the world of Studio Ghibli through this experience".

The only Ghibli film that's not coming to Netflix is Grave of the Fireflies (1988), because Ghibli doesn't have the distribution rights to it. The first wave, which includes My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service, releases on February 1, with the two subsequent waves arriving on the first days of March and April.

In May, Studio Ghibli unveiled plans to build its first theme park outside the Japanese city of Nagoya, where fans will be able to explore multiple themed areas based on Miyazaki's "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Princess Mononoke", as well as other Ghibli films.

"In finding the best digital partner for Studio Ghibli, our most valuable and faithful collaborators for 20 years, the Netflix team convinced us with their consistent love and energy for finding the best ways to promote the incredible and unique catalogue worldwide with respect to the Studio Ghibli philosophy", added Vincent Maraval, Chief Executive Officer at Wild Bunch International.

Aram Yacoubian, Director of Original Animation at Netflix, said, "This is a dream come true for Netflix and millions of our members".

Toyota will shift production of the Sequoia in 2022 to Texas and that plant will end production of the Tacoma by late 2021. The plant has over 7,000 employees and has the capacity to assemble more than 420,000 vehicles annually, the company said.

Variety broke the news that Netflix has won the global Studio Ghibli streaming rights, officially putting an end to the studio's long-held policy that it would not release its beloved animated films for streaming. The studio's films have been nominated for six Oscars in the past in the Animated Feature category, with Spirited Away winning the coveted prize in 2003. However, Studio Ghibli is finally allowing the streaming giant to share its incredible hand-drawn animation with the world in the hope of reaching new global audiences.

Which is your all-time favourite Studio Ghibli film?

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbors the Yamadas, Spirited Away, The Cat Returns, Arrietty, The Tale of The Princess Kaguya.

Again, this seems most notable not necessarily for where the Studio's films will stream, but for the fact that they'll stream at all.
