Tristan Thompson Thrown Out of Game After Inappropriately Touching Jae Crowder

The incident happened just after Thompson made his first of two free throws to cut Memphis' one-time 21-point lead to 12. Crowder was called to the bench for a substitution and, at that moment, both forwards were in close proximity to each other on the court of the FedExForum arena. As Thompson was standing at the free throw line waiting for everyone to get set, Crowder walked past him on his way back to the 3-point line.

Following the game, Thompson downplayed the incident and indicated that the game's officials did not fully understand the interaction. The Grizzlies' forward, however, did not take Thompson's gesture seriously, as he just briefly stopped near Thompson with a surprised look on his face.

Thompson was quickly T'd up for a "slap to the backside", crew chief Kenny Mauer said after the game. "We have a technology to be former teammates", he said.
