Britain broadened the range of its asset- cold procedures versus Lebanese Islamist movement Hezbollah on Thursday to cover the entire organisation in addition to its army wing, Reuters records.

"HM Treasury's move to freeze Hezbollah's assets is a vital step to cut it off from United Kingdom financial services, reduce its financial resources and limit the group's global terrorist activities and involvement in organised crime", he added.

"This listing includes the Military Wing, the Jihad Council and all units reporting to it, including the External Security Organisation".

"Europe is waking up to Iran's terrorist activities and their murderous proxies", Erdan said.

The UK's Home Secretary Sajid Javid chose to place the entire Hezbollah organization on a terrorist blacklist in February of 2019.

In a separate tweet, Erdan wrote, "Hezbollah and its Iranian backers are behind numerous attacks which have murdered innocent civilians all over the world".

Much of the plan is modeled off of work by Geoffrey Canada , a well-known community leader in NY , according to a campaign aide. Pushed for additional details regarding what kind of "complexity" his holdings might have, his campaign declined to comment.

The United States has welcomed the decision, saying it has always been seeking such a move from its European allies.

The change followed an annual review of the asset-freezing register, bringing it in line with a decision in March to blacklist the group, a treasury spokesman said.

The entire group is considered a terrorist organization by the United States, Israel, Canada, the Arab League, Australia along with various countries in South America, according to the i24 News report.

"The UK remains committed to the stability of Lebanon and the region, and we continue to work closely with our Lebanese partners", the spokesperson said. "There is no distinction between Hezbollah's political arm and its military arm".

The group is seen as a key component of Shiite-majority Iran's strategy for regional influence. Last year, it said Britain's decision to list it as terrorist showed London's "servile obedience" to Washington which gives it the same classification.
