British royal satire featuring ‘modern Aunt Meghan’ coming to HBO Max

HBO Max tweeted about the series saying, "The Prince, which follows an animated Prince George spilling all that British Royal Tea".

"I haven't really watched [the ITV documentary], so I don't really know that much about it, but I do know it feels like they're having a rough go of it - I think that's the gist", Janetti told PEOPLE two days after Harry & Meghan: An African Journey aired in the United Kingdom.

The show is a satire and it's called "The Prince".

Max has greenlit a new animated series titled The Prince from longtime Family Guy writer Gary Janetti.

Per the outlet, the series will be based on an Instagram account run by Hollywood writer Gary Janetti, who will also pen the show and voice the 6-year-old George.

A recent post linked to an article about Harry and Meghan losing their royal titles featured a shocked-looking George with the caption: "Oh my God, they'll be. people". Alan Cumming has been roped in as Owen, George's butler.

Walt Disney Co.'s 20th Century Fox Television is producing the show.

"We're so excited to bring the world Gary's created on Instagram over to HBO Max, where our viewers can discover what his Instagram fans already know - that George can be hilarious, shocking, and surprisingly sweet", said Sarah Aubrey, head of original content, HBO Max.

Gary's satirical Instagram account has nearly 900,000 followers and includes a lot of posts with one-liners from Prince George.

It will air on upcoming streaming platform HBO Max, which is set to be launched by WarnerMedia in May, and will also feature the new prequel to Game of Thrones.
