We are carefully considering each of the 50+ applications we have received for her. Love and support for Perdita has poured in from all over the world.

The reportedly unfriendly feline likes "staring into your soul until you feel as if you may never be cheerful again", "lurking in dark corners, being queen of her domicile" and "fooling shelter staff into thinking she's sick", it wrote.

The Mitchell County Animal Rescue based in the USA state of North Carolina posted an adoption ad on Facebook which introduced the world to the grumpy feline.

"We thought she was sick, turns out she's just a jerk", the shelter said.

"She definitely makes you laugh", she said.

Perdita now resides at the Mitchell County Animal Rescue in Spruce Pine and is looking for a forever home; however, her interests may shock some potential adopters.

The cat has many dislikes, too, including the color pink, "chipper" kittens, Disney movies, Christmas, hugs, and somewhat inexplicably, the Dixie Chicks.

Patriots lose DL coach Bret Bielema against Giants, per report
AL.com can confirm that Bielema has been hired by the New York Giants, as first reported by The Athletic and NFL Network. According to multiple sources, the New York Giants are adding Jerome Henderson and Bret Bielema to the coaching staff.

While Lowery admits that Perdita bit someone earlier in the day and typically growls from the back of her cage, she does enjoy a certain amount of human interaction.

If you're looking for a new pet and are up for a challenge, you might be in luck.

The shelter about 55 miles (89 kilometers) northeast of Asheville is waiving adoption fees in the hope that someone will take the cat named Perdita off their hands. "She's just all-out very bad". Perdita is not one of them.

"She pretends like she wants you to pet her and love on her", Brittany Taylor, the rescue's office manager, said.

"As soon as you pick her up, she starts growling".

"I like her, she's got attitude, one user wrote while another added: "I want her!"
