Vanity Fair's story noted that Murray and the other Ghostbusters veterans were only on set "over the span of a week and will have meaningful, but not central roles in the film". And fairly quickly into production there was word that both Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts would be back as well.

His return was confirmed in a new interview with Vanity Fair, as were Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson's returns as Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore. Murray didn't provide details as to what happened to Venkman since Ghostbusters 2.

But another major part of the squad not returning is Ghostbusters co-creator Harold Ramis, who co-wrote the first two films and played nerdy Dr. Egon Spengler, as the actor passed away in 2014 from a form of vasculitis at the age of 69.

"Well, we are a man down". As expected, the veteran actors will support the main cast of the movie in lesser roles without as much screen time.

'Real-life' Wolf of Wall Street sues Red Granite
Belfort sold Red Granite the rights to his memoir and the sequel, " Catching the Wolf of Wall Street ". Belfort claims he has no idea that the film was illegally funded.

Several clues in the trailer point to the theory that her dad was in fact Egon Spengler, the fourth Ghostbuster who was played by Ramis. Aykroyd, Ramis, and original director Ivan Reitman had all attempted for years to get a third Ghostbusters movie made in subsequent years, but one of its biggest hurdles had always been the difficulty in getting Murray to come back.

'The script is good. "It's got lots of emotion in it", noted Murray. We all know what it's like to be told stories by our parents. "[It has] lots of family in it, with through lines that are really interesting". As revealed in the trailer, the movie will follow single mother Callie (Carrie Coon) along with her son Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) and daughter Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) moving to a farm inherited from their "late grandfather". Ivan is producing "Ghostbusters: Afterlife", which is also reportedly titled as "Ghostbusters: Legacy" and "Ghostbusters: From Beyond' in some zones".

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is set to open in theaters July 10th.
