I needed more time at Arsenal, says ex-coach Emery

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos revealed that current European champions Liverpool were among the clubs interested in tying him to a loan deal.

Emery himself, though, despite having previously spoken with nothing but respect and gratitude with regards to his time spent in north London, has today taken aim at his former employers.

He has averaged 1.7 tackles per game in the league for Arsenal, in fairness - more than Gini Wijnaldum (1.0) - but this season's overall evidence suggests he may not have settled, otherwise he would be playing more for the Gunners now.

Former Arsenal boss Unai Emery says he didn't get enough time to transform the London giants who were on a "downward slope" when he was appointed, France Football magazine reported on Monday.

'Klopp is a great coach but you have to see the game philosophy of each team. "Still, being linked to the best teams in the world just shows I'm doing things right".

Klinsmann quits as Berlin coach after 10 weeks
In a surprise move, former USA men's national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann quit his job as head coach at Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin just 76 days after taking the job.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could hand January signing Pablo Mari his debut for the club against Newcastle this weekend, according to Mail Online.

"But it was a good season and we had this notion of continuing to improve", he said.

"If I do that, return from injury and help the team achieve its objectives, it will leave a better feeling than if I had taken the coward's way out and left".

Several Arsenal fans have faulted Arteta exclusively for the Burnley draw at the weekend especially due to his use of Gabriel Martinelli. "We think these players are 22 or 23, but at 18 to do it in this league, I'm a big fan of his, it's just all about timing". "The problem is, when you've got players on £350,000-a-week, £250,000-a-week, and you've got to ask them to go and chase down in the corners". Right now, I wouldn't fit in at Liverpool very well.
