Some coronavirus test kits shipped around USA are flawed, CDC claims

These testing kits have nothing to do with the US patient who was under quarantine after returning from Wuhan and was recently misidentified as not being infected with the coronavirus.

They had all tested negative for the virus, multiple times over the course of their time on March Air Reserve near Riverside, California.

Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo, director of the infectious diseases division at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, said the precise diagnostic tests were invaluable. The person is now isolated and receiving medical care at a designated hospital nearby. The virus, COVID-19, has infected over 60,000 and murdered at 1,369.

The first group of Wuhan evacuees completed their 14-day quarantine and were released yesterday to return home, posing no threat to the community, Messonnier said.

CDC officials said it appeared the two San Diego patients were separately exposed to the virus in China. Eight cases have been confirmed in California, one in MA, one in Washington state, one in Arizona, two in IL and one in Wisconsin.

Hope Hicks returning to White House after two-year break
Hicks wasn't the only former White House official to land at Fox. "We are excited to have her back on the team". Hicks has worked as chief communications officer for the parent company of Fox News since last fall.

More than 800 Americans and family members evacuated from China aboard State Department-chartered flights since late last month have been placed under quarantine - the first imposed by the CDC in 50 years - at one of five U.S. military bases in California, Texas and Nebraska, according to the CDC.

The patients did not infect one another, and fewer people who have been in China are now coming back to the US.

On Feb 7 following a conversation with China's president about the outbreak, President Donald Trump tweeted that as the weather becomes warmer the virus will become weaker and die out.

It was not clear how many kits were flawed.

Japan confirmed its first coronavirus death, adding to two previous fatalities in Hong Kong and the Philippines. They were allowed to continue on to their final destinations and self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

"Our goal is to be as least restrictive as possible" while protecting the health of all Americans, Messonnier said.
