China reports 5,090 new coronavirus cases in mainland, 121 new deaths

"While 195 people were discharged from quarantine on Tuesday, more than 600 people who returned on chartered flights from Wuhan remain under federal quarantine and are being closely monitored to contain the spread of the virus".

China announced another 121 deaths Friday, bringing the total to at least 1,383, including three deaths outside mainland China.

Meantime, the vulnerability of health workers responding to the epidemic was crystalized with other data emerging from China.
