Cody Bellinger Eviscerates Astros Over Scandal, 'They Stole The Ring From Us'

I thought [Rob] Manfred's punishment was weak, giving [the players] immunity. (That includes those now with other teams.) If that means battling the MLBPA, so be it.

"These guys were cheating for three years!"

Fair to say the Bellinger doesn't quiet see eye-to-eye with either. No one can until we finally get something the Astros weren't willing to give as they opened spring training.

If the Astros were as bad at stealing signs as they are at apologizing for it, there might be championship flags flying in Los Angeles and NY now.

Predictably, Crane began his remarks by pointing to the steps he's taken since November and portraying himself as already having addressed the issue - not-so subtly emphasizing that he had already issued an apology, and saying the team "went above and beyond" by firing GM Jeff Luhnow and manager AJ Hinch after Major League Baseball issued them one-year suspensions. "These are a great group of guys who did not receiver proper guidance from their leaders". "Our opinion is that this didn't impact the game".

However, it's abundantly clear from the press conference, that not everyone in the Astros organization "feels bad" about what happened in 2017.

Here is Alex Bregman, definitely feeling remorse over the cheating that helped him to the tune of an on-base percentage that was nearly double at home what it was on the road, during the 2017 postseason.

Body of missing British tramper Stephanie Simpson found
According to her Facebook account, she had been living in the Wanaka area since November and was working as a landscaper. It comes after search teams zeroed in on the area after finding her backpack and hiking boots earlier in the day.

Even though Hinch was questioned for his answer about whether or not the Astros used buzzers in 2019, he has since released another statement saying that he had no such knowledge.

And those lead to wins - 101 of them in the regular season.

Need more proof? Just listen to Justin Verlander, who expressed his regret that he didn't say more about what was going on in Houston.

The suspicions have been fueled, however, by footage of Altuve after his walk off home run off Yankees pitcher Aroldis Chapman in the playoffs last season, which sent the Astros to the World Series. The players the Astros cheated are union members, too. They will get pitched high and tight.

The most significant soundbite of the press conference, though, came a bit later, after players Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve made very brief appearances to apologize. Home attendance and fan interest in Houston will likely drop.

But until those who cheated get suspended, they got away with it.

But in a time where the Houston Astros can not get anything right, with all of the fake "sorry we only got caught" apologies, Hinch has done a helluva lot more than most everyone on his former franchise, who is making a mockery of itself day by day.
