Emmanuel Adebayor completes move to Paraguayan side Club Olimpia

Veteran Togo global striker Emmanuel Adebayor has joined Olimpia on a free transfer, the Paraguayan first division club said on Tuesday.

The former Tottenham and Arsenal striker joins his 10th different professional club after he ended a three-month spell with Turkish side Kayserispor in December.

The announcement came four days after Olimpia's president, Marco Trovato, promised to sign the 35-year-old if the club attracted an additional 20,000 members over the weekend.

Adebayor has actually racked up 97 Premier League objectives in total amount while betting Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and also Crystal Palace.

Olimpia Asuncion tweeted to announce they had secured the services of a player and praised his "power and quality".

The Togo global made his return to England a year later to have spells at Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace as he departed to Turkey in 2017.

Adebayor, 35, will join up with former City team-mate Roque Santa Cruz at Olimpia, where his fellow veteran was top scorer in the Paraguayan league a year ago.

Adebayor moved to Turkey in 2017 to join for Istanbul Basaksehir before signing for Kayserispor.

Adebayor has 66 worldwide caps and won the African Footballer of the Year award in 2008.

He has amassed the most caps and goals for his native Togo, having featured 87 times while scoring 32 goals for his country.
