BRIT Awards 2020: Viewers think Harry Styles' performance was for Caroline Flack

The former Love Island host, who stepped away from the popular United Kingdom series after she was charged with assault in December 2019, was found dead at her apartment on Saturday, according to The Sun and the Daily Mail.

As per several news reports, Harry Styles, who dated Carolina Flack at 17, will go ahead with his performance at the BRIT Awards.

After an opening performance, Jack then took to the stage and revealed what was in store before taking a moment to speak about Caroline. Meanwhile, there were speculations that popular singer Harry Styles, who was Caroline's close friend, would skip his performance in the upcoming BRIT Awards 2020 following Caroline's untimely death.

Another wrote: "Felt like @Harry_Styles sang that for Caroline".

"We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February", read a family statement given to the U.K.'s Press Association. "Caroline clearly made a huge impact on so many, so sad".

"She was a kind and vibrant person with an infectious sense of fun. She will be sorely missed", he added as his voice began to break. Having been a member of The BRIT Awards family during her career, the industry event holders honoured the late television personality with a tribute given by host Jack Whitehall, 31, to begin coverage on ITV tonight. "Caroline was a much-loved member of the Love Island team and our honest thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends".

Harry had a black ribbon pinned to his blazer, which is believed to be a symbol of remembrance or mourning.

An inquest into the star's death will be held on Wednesday (February 19).
