Colorado State vs. San Diego State Prediction, Preview, and Odds

With its historic winning streak over, No. 5 San Diego State returns to action Tuesday for its home finale against Colorado State.

The Colorado State Rams (19-10, 10-6 Mountain West) visit the San Diego State Aztecs (26-1, 15-1, 1st in MWC) in an 11 p.m. ET affair at Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl Tuesday.

The Rebels held on to pick up the three-point win, their fourth in five games.

Junior forward Matt Mitchell is in disbelief after a call went against the Aztecs' way during their 66-63 loss against UNLV on February 22 at Viejas Arena.

"We have to use this moment to find a way to get better". "We're vastly disappointed. We wanted a flawless season, but it didn't happen, and that's college basketball". It happens every night, and it hadn't happened to us all year.

Dutcher said his post-game message to the team was "Disappointment, but it's college basketball". Matt Mitchell finished with 13 points, and Jordan Schakel added 10 points and nine rebounds.

Not long after the loss, social media was flooded with the sentiment that maybe the loss would be good for the Aztecs, who have been projected as the No. 1 seed in the East, where the regionals will be played at New York's Madison Square Garden. Providing the Aztecs don't stumble again, they could stay in that position, or maybe drop to the No. 2 seed in the West. Gonzaga is the projected No. 1 seed in the West, where the regionals will be at Staples Center up the freeway in Los Angeles.

"For us, we were just missing shots", Mitchell said. If we lose a drill at practice, I'm not very happy. "We focused on just winning".

The development comes as 118 people were released from a coronavirus quarantine centre in Milton Keynes . "Our number one priority has consistently been the health and safety of United Kingdom nationals".

When a media timeout was called with 3:50 left in the first half, the Aztecs went almost eight minutes without a field goal. They also had the longest current winning streak in Division I. We stuck to the game plan and played for each other. "But we're also going to move on because we really haven't done anything yet". Every so often, I like to share some of the numbers that help distinguish Team A from Team B and even Team Z.

It's not like the Aztecs haven't experienced losing before. The Rebels have been running without Donnie Tillman the last two games due to a knee injury, and the junior is not expected to be available Saturday. Feagin, another grad transfer, had two losing seasons during his four years at Santa Clara.

Said Hardy: "I feel like tonight we played a full 40 minutes. We had business to take care of and we came here and did it". I'm just glad it happened Saturday rather than the first game in March or the first game in the conference tournament or things like that.

Elijah Mitrou-Long led the Rebels with 19 points off the bench, and hit four clutch free throws in the final minute to seal the deal. He topped 1,000 points for his career with an emphatic dunk in the second half. "But unfortunately they play both ways here so the same guys who were struggling on offense were playing their butts off on defense". "But I think they would have been ready to play whether we hung a banner or not".

NO. 5 DAYTON 80, DUQUESNE 70: Obi Toppin had 28 points as Dayton won its 16th game in a row, beating Duquesne.

While the aura of invincibility is gone, "I think this team has tremendous swagger".

Flynn missed the would-be game-tying attempt on San Diego State's next possession, and Marvin Coleman made a heads-up hustle play when he threw the ball off Arop to give UNLV the ball.
