The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired forward Vincent Trocheck from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Erik Haula, Lucas Wallmark, Chase Priskie and Eetu Luostarinen, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

While the point-totals may not jump off the page, Trocheck has still been a very good player for the Florida Panthers and a change of scenery may help him round back into form. Where Trocheck lines up exactly will go a long way to determining his fantasy value going forward, but something to keep an eye on is his power-play usage.

Trocheck has 10 goals and 26 assists in 55 games for the Panthers this season. A change of scenery could be the flawless remedy, making Trocheck worth a speculative add after this trade.

"Vincent brings elements of skill and competitiveness that fit the mold of the style we want to play", Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said.

Trocheck has two years remaining on his contact at $4.75 million a season.

At the time of the deal, Haula has scored 12 goals and 22 points in 41 games.

In more than 30 years at The N&O, Chip Alexander has covered the N.C. State, UNC, Duke and East Carolina beats, and now is in his 11th season on the Carolina Hurricanes beat. This is why they got so many pieces in return, including forward Erik Haula who is just a few years removed from having a 29-goal, 55-point season. The 28-year-old has 85 goals and 88 assists in 398 career games split between the Hurricanes, Vegas Golden Knights, and Minnesota Wild.

Luostarinen, 21, was a second round pick of the Hurricanes in 2017 and had eight goals and 17 assists in 44 games with the Checkers this season. Priskie, 23, had six goals and 25 assists in 52 games this season with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers. Luostarinen played eight games with the Hurricanes in 2018-19.
