On Thursday, Hinton set out to Madison County in North Carolina to report on the snowfall and how it was affecting the roads.

But as he started broadcasting his report live on the station's Facebook page, a gold medallion and headband popped up around his face and gold confetti started raining down.

From there, the reporter was featured with a variety of hilarious looks - sunglasses and a fedora, a pair of googly eyes, cat ears and a nose modeled after the Looney Tunes character Sylvester, and even a long gray beard and blue wizard hat.

A reporter from North Carolina had a new experience while reporting on the weather.

Hinton said his photographer warned him that the camera was doing something weird, but he shrugged it off and went on anyway.

China would take "counter-measures" against the decision, Gui Congyou, the Chinese ambassador in Stockholm, said at the time. Hong Kong media say a court in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, handed down the latest sentence on Monday.

"These filters are cracking me up", one person commented. "Needless to say, it did not go away", he wrote. Thankfully, the filters weren't particularly embarrassing, and while it will probably take Hinton a while to live down the mistake, there's no question that more people have now seen his reporting skills in action as this clip slowly spreads its way across the internet.

Hinton didn't realize anything was amiss until reading the comments pouring in from viewers on Facebook and through social media after the broadcast.

'My bosses, coworkers, friends, PIOs and more called/texted saying how amusing it was, so here you go.

On his own Facebook, Hinton said of the situation, "If you can't laugh at yourself, what's the point of laughter?"

Hinton was a good sport though and said the filters made him laugh just as much as everyone else. "I hope you enjoyed the snow day, and do not forget to smile and laugh!"
