IPhone XR Was the Highest Selling Smartphone Worldwide in 2019: Research

According to the latest report from Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 11 was the second best selling phone in 2019 with 2.1% share of all global smartphone sales, trailing only the iPhone XR which commanded a 3% share. Each of the five best-selling phones in the region was an iPhone, from the cheap iPhone 8 to the iPhone 11 Pro Max premium.

Apple is followed by Samsung with three models, all from its A series, among the top 10. The iPhone 11 ended up becoming the second best-selling smartphone model in 2019 even though it was launched in September previous year.

Xiaomi had a better showing in the global top 10 smartphones in Q4 2019 list, however, with two smartphones making the cut. Latin America, on the other hand, was a similar story although Lenovo-owned Motorola also managed to make an appearance in the top 5.
