José Mourinho warned that Tottenham will find it "very difficult" to qualify for the Champions League next season after RB Leipzig ended their participation in this year's competition by winning their last-16 tie 4-0 on aggregate.

Mourinho was without Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Steven Bergwijn, Moussa Sissoko, Ben Davies and Davinson Sanchez.

"We can see players are fighting and giving their best".

"But the most incredible thing is that the team focused on playing the Leipzig style and in the next round, it's important that doesn't change".

"All the players on the Leipzig bench would play at this moment in my team".

But Dele said: "We can't use [the absence of Kane and Son] as an excuse, we still have quality on the pitch, some good players".

Julian Nagelsmann's Leipzig side will have to make do without the services of Ibrahima Konate due to a hamstring injury and Willi Orban due to a knee injury, according to the Bundesliga website.

They now have a clean run in the league from now until the end of the season and they have to try somehow claw back a seven-point cushion to Chelsea in fourth.

"We have to take everything positive but I think it belongs to the past, we need to write new stories", said goalkeeper and captain Lloris, referring to the Ajax match.

"The first is to be part of a team like Liverpool or Manchester City". But we conceded too many chances as a team and were punished. "We had to show maturity and fight, and we didn't do that".

But Werner admits he has a decision to make about whether to compete with other top players for a place in a team or continue at Leipzig, who are now competing for the Bundesliga title and progressing in the Champions League. We can't be in the position we are in in the league, we can't hide.

"We have to go there and be ready to make the flawless game, we have to go there to win the game. We know it's not good enough".

Mourinho added: "With the squad we have at the moment it will be very hard [to qualify for the Champions League] because the problems won't go tomorrow". Our problems are not going to disappear tomorrow.

"We have to fight".
