Later on Thursday, while speaking by phone on TNT, Barkley asked CNN chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta, "Do you think this thing is going to get worse before it gets better?"

NBA Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Charles Barkley revealed he was tested for the coronavirus, but has not received the results yet.

Barkley added he has implemented a self-quarantine and he went to get tested for the coronavirus after being in NY earlier this week. In the meantime, he's in a 48-hour quarantine. He said he wasn't feeling well in the last 48 hours, as concerns over the coronavirus pandemic continued to grow, and made a decision to self-quarantine.

"They told me to self-quarantine for 48 hours". I started yesterday. This is my second day. I went and took the coronavirus test late this afternoon and I have not received the results yet.

The three-match ODI series between India and South Africa has been called off in the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak. It had been scheduled to begin on March 29.

"I'm kind of in limbo right now", he said.

Elsewhere in the program, Barkley said of his own condition, "I'm really hoping it was just a bug". When I got to Atlanta, I just wasn't feeling well.

The news comes a day after the National Basketball Association announced it was suspending its season following Jazz center Rudy Gobert contracting the virus. Gobert's teammate Donovan Mitchell tested positive Thursday.
