According to Rolling Stone, each lesson is about three minutes long and has been developed by researchers at the Korean Language Content Institute and Professor Heo Yong of the Department of Korean Education at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The idea reportedly arose when fans started asking for English subtitles for the guys' videos. They had planned a coinciding Korean tour, however it was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. Titled Learn Korean With BTS, the short-form videos will feature previous footage from the group's well-loved variety program Run BTS! and other online content from YouTube.

"With the recent popularity of K-pop and other Korean cultural contents, the demand for learning Korean is increasing greatly, so we are planning Korean education contents to improve our accessibility", Big Hit said.

We are also developing plans to secure dates and venues to hold BTS MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR - SEOUL Concerts when the situation stabilizes. The album, released earlier this year, debuted at No. 1 on the RS Charts in early March.
