Bruce Arians: Jameis Winston Was Plan C After Tom Brady & Teddy Bridgewater

This is Hoyer's third stint with New England, and it may be his most important. With limited cap space and a reset of sorts going on, spending big money on a veteran just doesn't make sense.

The common thread with these signings is that they're all culture fits, going back to the famous Scott Pioli quote, "we're building a team, not collecting talent".

New England Patriots fans are likely still reeling from the fact that Tom Brady will no longer play for the team after first announcing it on social media and then making it official by signing a 2-year deal with the Tampa Bay Bucs. The transition, I'd say, has been very emotional with a lot of the guys I've talked to that I shared the field with, because the relationships are what matter most to me.

New England made signing Hoyer a priority the moment he was released from Indianapolis.

Pres. Trump Hopes To Re-Open The Economy By Easter
"I would love to have the country opened up and just raring to go by Easter". We lose much more than that to automobile accidents.

A rookie from Auburn, Stidham served as Tom Brady's backup during the 2019 National Football League season. A 10-year veteran and two-time Pro Bowler, McCourty saw plenty of Stidham during practice, though, and the defensive captain said the quarterback showed him a lot while preparing the Patriots defense with the scout-team offense. "I have nothing but total respect and love", he said.

"And, obviously, Hoyer, he's been on different teams. But at the same time, you can't help but be excited for them". "He didn't have it easy", Devin McCourty said on the podcast, via NESN's Zack Cox. "I have nothing but two decades of an incredible experience, and learning from some of the best players and the best coaches and the ownership of the team".

"So as soon as we have the opportunity to all be together in one place, we can really start working toward that, and that is what I am going to do".

With Brady gone, it might be assumed Stidham would inherit the top job, but Jason McCourty said he'd have to earn the starting spot. I think, for all of us, things in life can change and you have to be able to adapt and evolve. "Different guys are going to be competing, and the best man will be taking the snaps from under center".
