Humboldt logs COVID-19 case no. 4

According to the CDC, four out of five people who have become ill acquire the disease from someone who didn't know they had it - meaning there are likely many more people in the community who are infected with COVID-19 than reported.

Cases testing positive for COVID-19 in Monroe County nearly tripled over the span of a day, with seven new cases reported March 25 to bring the total to eleven as of 7 p.m.

Schuyler said one local company has started the production of face shields, which will be able to supply Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties.

The first case in Ohio County is a female who was tested on March 23 and whose test came back positive on Tuesday.

The county now has 15 confirmed positive cases.

Schuyler said the virus is here in the county and will spread at a "rampant rate" if people don't adhere to the strategies of staying home, practicing social distancing and washing their hands frequently for at least 20 seconds.

In Franklin County, a the person who tested positive has been in quarantine at home since March 21.

"It is extremely important that everyone stay home and avoid contact with others", reads a statement from Franklin County.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,865 total cases of the virus and 19 deaths as of Wednesday throughout the state. Anyone identified as a close contact, per New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) guidelines, is in their home under self-quarantine and being monitored by the SCDOH staff.

The cases are being investigated by health officials.

The health department is conducting contact investigation with the patients and will be monitoring their general health.

There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the Sheridan inmate population.

Wheeling Hospital is operating a COVID-19 testing site in the parking lot of Wheeling Park.

"There has been a large delay in the testing results and we have received many calls from upset people who were tested", Sproul added.

Three cases were reported on Friday.

Burrell said the county obtained the test result from his health-care provider.

Both the Sussex County Dept. of Health and the patients were notified of the positive results on March 20. In its most recent report, the health department stated there were 295 new cases, 284 involving Florida residents and 11 non-state residents.
