The players' salaries will be prorated based on how long the season lasts. While NBA and National Hockey League enthusiasts have had to maintain their sports activities being unexpectedly taken off air, MLB enthusiasts didn't also have the luxurious of witnessing the season get underway, as Opening Day was once scheduled for Thursday. According to power agent Scott Boras, though, a full 166-game season is still entirely plausible.

In case you hadn't noticed, sports around the globe are now on hold, and yes, that includes Major League Baseball.

"Under the Boras plan, wild-card games would be played Dec. 3, the division series would be Dec. 5-9, the league championship series Dec. 11-17 and the World Series on Dec. 19-26". Furthermore it is not fair for Twins and Indians fans to not have the opportunity to see their respective teams play the World Series up close rather than a neutral site.

"We have it all mapped out", Boras said.

It is perfectly understandable where Boras is coming from.

Clackamas Community College Raising Funds for Students Impacted by COVID-19
There are now around 225 students approved to remain on campus, according to Annette Diorio, Vice President for Campus Life. Lab activities were compressed whenever possible in each program and Thompson said most of that was completed last week.

Sports have been shut down indefinitely across the country in response to the coronavirus outbreak, and while it's still hard to tell when it will be safe to resume play, many leagues are hoping to either continue or start their seasons by late spring or early summer.

As previously reported, the players would accrue a full year of service time if they are active for the shortened season.

As an outsider who does not know much about labor negotiations, my immediate question is in this scenario what happens to players who were injured in 2019?

Major League Baseball, along with every other sports league, continues to explore every conceivable option on how to approach resuming normal operations in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. A typical season would have featured 186 days overall, giving players up to 172 days of service time.

These are certainly sizable steps for baseball during a time of such uncertainty, though there are still more details to work out. The regular season was supposed to start today.
