According to an image posted by the Glynn County Fire Department on social media, 21-time PGA Tour victor Davis Love III's house caught fire in the early hours of Friday and within minutes, it turned into a massive ball of flame.

As Eric Patterson of The Score did some digging about the house itself, the plantation-style mansion had been up for sale for six years at an asking price of $4.88 million.

Love, 55, has lived in the house for more than 20 years. His son, Dru, is a professional golfer and former standout at Alabama.

Davis Love III is a former Ryder Cup captain for the United States.

It was unclear who was home when he was burned. He runs a PGA Tour event at Sea Island Golf Club and the area is home to several PGA Tour players.

According to Glynn County (Ga) Fire Rescue, the initial send off showed the fire began in the garage, although the fire is still under examination.

Former PGA Tour victor Davis Love III claimed he was proud to be a member of the St. Simons Island/Sea Island community for many years and wishes to be the same for more years. "We are very grateful to the first responders who made a valiant effort to save our home and we keep things in perspective as people in our society and around the world struggle with the current unmatched health crisis".

"It was completely engulfed in flames at our arrival", Jordan told ESPN. "We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers and your respect for our privacy".
