Ontario confirms more COVID-19 cases on Sunday morning

Those people have been asked to self-isolate for 14 days from last contact with the confirmed case.

The overall total of cases jumped by three to 25 by Friday, but health authorities said each case was a person returning from overseas and all three have been placed in isolation at home.

Construction workers might notice some changes when they go to work on Monday, as the provincial government has laid out some updated guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19 at job sites.

Ontario has recorded 211 new confirmed cases of coronavirus, raising the total number of cases in the province to 1,355.

There are 7,203 under investigation and 40,630 cases have tested negative.

A spokesman for the Public Health Unit said it was following up close contacts of cases who are located within the Northern NSW Local Health District.

The prime minister said more support will be announced in "the coming days" for charitable organizations that are seeing donations dry up.

This order does not apply to private households with five people or more, operating child care centres supporting frontline health care workers, and first responders, provided the number of persons at each centre does not exceed 50 people.

The new order replaces a previous emergency order prohibiting organized public events of over 50 people. And up to 10 people are allowed to gather at funerals.
