Coronavirus: Star Wars actor Andrew Jack dies aged 76

Jill says Andrew's wife couldn't be there for her husband because she herself is in quarantine in Australia - and there may not be a way to accommodate a proper funeral due to conditions created by the global pandemic.

An actor and dialect coach who appeared in Star Wars and worked with A-list celebrities has died after contracting Covid-19, his agent has said.

Andrew's representative, Jill McCullough, told TMZ that he died on Tuesday morning at a hospital outside of London. Tragically she is stuck in quarantine in Australia having just flown in from NZ last week.

"Andrew was full of life - he was tall and striking with flowing white hair", he continued.

Along with his small on-screen part in the Star Wars movies, Jack also served as dialect coach on The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. "You wouldn't miss him if he walked into a room". It was Jack's second Caped Crusader movie after working on 2005's Batman Begins. "Andrew Jack was diagnosed with Coronavirus 2 days ago".

Jack was in the United Kingdom for the production of Matt Reeves' The Batman, which went on hold earlier this month as the growing pandemic became more of a global threat. "In addition to playing Major Ematt in The Force Awakens, his work as a dialect coach on TFA, Solo, & other SW films revealed a man who was passionate & caring for both his work and those around him".

Fellow Star Wars actor Greg Grunberg said he was "devastated" to learn of Jack's death, describing him as a "wonderful, talented, beloved gentleman".

In addition, he worked with actors Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey Jr. and Ken Watanabe on other projects.

He functioned as the dialect coach on" Avengers: Endgame,"'Robin Hood,"Sherlock Holmes, '"Alien v. Predator,"Lord of the Rings,"Die Another Day,"Eastern Promises,"Captain America,"Men in Black: International" and on and on and on".
