UFC 249 has been struck by countless issues.

UFC boss White did not immediately confirm the fights lower down the UFC 249 card, although Khabib's teammates Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov, who is also his younger cousin and was due to make his UFC debut, are both definitely out as they are similarly stranded in lockdown in Russian Federation.

Justin Gaethje will headline UFC 249 "somewhere on this planet" come April 18, according to Dana White.

UFC 249 will take place in arguably the most testing times of any show in the promotion's history, given the ongoing coronavirus outbreak and the rancorous debate over if, where and how the event will happen - or even if it should be going ahead at all.

Absolutely NOT true! The card is happening but @TeamKhabib (Khabib Nurmagomedov) is out.

Gov. Evers suspends in-person voting, calls Special Session on Tuesday
Just last week a federal judge said he did not have the power to cancel the election and Governor Evers doesn't either. The governor himself has repeatedly acknowledged he can't move the election ", they said in the statement.

With Nurmagomedov a flawless 28-0 and Ferguson (25-3) riding a 12-fight win streak since 2012, the bout was one of the most anticipated of the year.

However, ESPN reported that the UFC was attempting to secure an unnamed venue on the West Coast. "I will announce the entire card tomorrow", the UFC boss replied.

The UFC president reacted to a fake tweet saying the blockbuster title fight between Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson is on for UFC 249.

The UFC reportedly offered Ferguson a bout with Gaethje, though the status of the fight was unclear. "We're gonna try to make this thing go", Ferguson recently told ESPN. The guys that are really doing it are the doctors and the nurses and the people taking care of everybody.

The UFC and White have been dead-set on putting an event together for this month despite the continued spread of the coronavirus.
