OnePlus 8 series is set to make its global debut in exactly a week from today on 14th April. Though we are a week away from the launch, all the specs including the design of the phones are already out in the open.

The renders show the OnePlus charging dock clad in a white paintjob and a small protrusion near the bottom edge that will keep the OnePlus 8 Pro still while charging.

In fact, the Warp Charge 30 Wireless offer wireless charging that's faster than the 25W wired charger included with the Galaxy S20 lineup.

After months of speculation and a slew of leaks, OnePlus has finally confirmed that the OnePlus 8 series will be getting wireless charging, but only the "ultra-premium flagship" OnePlus 8 Pro. This is super impressive as the OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to come equipped with a 4,510mAh battery. It also claims to be 97% efficient, losing very little of that power to heat, so your phone should be getting nearly all of that 30W to its charging coils, with real-time communication happening between the phone and charger to better tune that power.

Boeing will redo Starliner capsule's uncrewed test flight
It will be the first human launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida since NASA's space shuttle programme ended in 2011. Starliner must pass its unmanned flight tests before NASA uses it to send astronauts to the ISS.

This year the company will introduce wireless charging for the first time. However, Lau says that the approach taken by wireless Warp Charge produces less heat than traditional chargers in the first place. The wireless earphones are also expected to offer a long battery life of 20 hours on a full charge.

To get those speeds, OnePlus had to create its own wireless charger for this "Warp Charge 30 Wireless" feature, outfitted with a fan to help with cooling. But these chargers will be only capable of charging the phone at relatively slower speeds of 5W and 10W respectively.

During an interview with The Verge, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the OnePlus 8 Pro will not only have wireless charging, but it'll be fast as hell at 30W. The OnePlus device, on the other hand, ties with the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro.

Wireless charging has been around for roughly a decade now, with Palm's smartphones offering Touchstone charging back in 2009.
