The New York Liberty selected Sabrina Ionescu with the No. 1 overall pick, and her OR teammate Satou Sabally went second overall to Dallas.

When she was just 12 years old - a full decade prior to her selection in the 2020 WNBA Draft - Ionescu predicted that she'd one day play professional basketball in the league.

The top eight players in Friday night's WNBA Draft included Oregon's "Big Three", Sabrina Ionescu, Satou Sabally, and Ruthy Hebard. She is the NCAA's all-time leader in triple-doubles and became the first player in Division I history to put up 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 1,000 boards. Ionescu was one of three first-round picks for NY, which also had Nos.

According to reports, Ionescu had offers worth multiple times her expected WNBA salary, with contracts on the table exceeding recent WNBA Finals MVP-level player deals.

Google says it won't build AI tools for oil and gas drillers
Between the lines: Microsoft and Amazon have said that working with the oil industry isn't at odds with their climate commitments. The organization called tech companies to end these relationships and Google was the first to answer that call.

"I've been working for this for my entire basketball career and super excited to see that come to fruition", Ionescu said. While Sabally and her OR teammates did not get the opportunity to play in the NCAA tournament, tomorrow could be a big night for them in the WNBA draft.

"To go 1-2 with Satou is a really cool feeling and shows all the hard work we went through this year paid off", Ionescu stated.

How does every player fit into the team that took a chance on them? Speaking from her home in Fairbanks, Alaska, she said it was great to be able to be drafted with two teammates.

Training camp was supposed to start subsequent weekend with the common season opener initially scheduled for May 15.
