Zurich International back Mental Health Awareness Week

"If we are able to be more positive, we can overcome all this quicker and better than if you try to pick negative things out and try to destroy our mental health".

Running from 18 to 24 May, the theme for 2020 is "be kind".

Mental Health Awareness Week is the UK's national week to raise awareness of mental health and mental health problems and inspire action to promote the message of good mental health for all.

Blue Earth County is recognizing this month by reminding the community that mental health services continue to be available despite the closure of buildings to walk-in traffic.

"In these highly unusual times it's even more important that colleagues keep safe and well and seek support when needed".

Minister resigns over Dominic Cummings controversy

Dr Angela Brady, Deputy Chief Medical Officer at NHS Birmingham and Solihull CCG, said: "This week (18-25 May) is Mental Health Awareness Week, so it is the flawless time to encourage any local person to access this new helpline".

The board explained that mental health organisations, advocates and institutions “around the world”, including the U.S., observed May as Mental Health Awareness Month.

The focus on kindness is a response to the coronavirus outbreak and the ongoing mental health challenges caused by the pandemic, with the Mental Health Foundation also starting a discussion on the kind of society we want to shape moving forward.

Ben Harrington, MA Ed, and CEO of the East Tennessee Association, says they've seen an increase in mental health screenings and calls since the pandemic. You can find lots of useful information on their website. The program is designed for people who are struggling but don't think they need professional help. And it's important that we're engaging with them to make sure that they are OK.
