Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet and Coupe mid-cycle update revealed.

The E53 is the model that will perhaps garner the most interest, given that is the first foray into the Mercedes-AMG world for prospective E-Class owners, bar the more-hardcore 63 models.

Step inside, and the changes from the pre-facelift are very obvious on both the AMG E 53 and the standard E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet.

Last March, Mercedes-Benz digitally launched the updated E-Class for 2020 in the wake of the canceled Geneva Motor Show. Talking about the AMG E53 models, they employ a 435 PS twin-turbo 3.0-litre engine featuring an integrated starter generator that give an extra push of 21 PS and 249 Nm.

2021 Mercedes E-Class convertible gets a more sporty front-end. The LED headlights and tail-lights are new additions, the exhaust and diffuser have been slightly re-designed, there's new steering too.

German luxury vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has announced plans to launch 10 new models in 2020 to stimulate demand for its products. The E53s also have new 19-inch wheels, and all models get an expanded exterior color palette. A new aerodynamic wheel option is also included for a small boost in performance.

Inside, the dual 12.3-inch instrument cluster and infotainment system screens return as one large unit on all E-Class models, but the coupe and cabriolet adopt the MBUX user interface with voice control activated by the keywords "Hey Mercedes", a next-generation touchpad on the center console, and available augmented reality. The E-Class Cabriolet with the classic fabric top offers spaciousness and comfort on long journeys for up to four people. Both the neck heater (AIRSCARF) and electric wind deflector (AIRCAP) features come as standard equipment for the Cabriolet.

For safety, the updated models are loaded with several hi-tech appointments, including automatic emergency braking with a pedestrian detection and cross-traffic function, blind-spot monitoring, a surround-view camera system, and an automated parking feature. Marketed as "light" and with a 'closer link between human and machine, ' the new AMG Performance steering wheel is said to feature a host of technologies that aid the driving experience. The 4Matic+ system also allows for drive to be sent to only the rear wheels.
