According to a new report from Vulture, Apple has signed a deal with the Jim Henson Company to not only produce new, full-length episodes of the series but has also purchased the streaming rights of all of its original episodes.

Apple has already invested in a few short videos to promote "Fraggle Rock On", because in addition to having the full catalog of the series, we will have a completely new season of the program with fairly long episodes. The beloved Jim Henson Company children's puppet program is returning as a rebooted Apple Original series "for new generations of fans to enjoy together".

"Rock On!" short-form series doesn't seem to be the end of Apple's relationship with the Jim Henson classic. A source told Vulture that Apple wanted the Fraggle Rock streaming rights for consistency - due to their upcoming reboot and the Fraggle Rock: Rock On! series, they would have all of the new Fraggle Rock content, while HBO would have had the original Fraggle Rock if Apple hadn't acquired the library. (Zoey's Infinite Playlist), with Yariv Milchan (The Lighthouse), Michael Schaefer (Ad Astra), John Tartaglia (Sesame Street) and Rita Peruggi (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) also all attached in various producing capacities. Harvey Mason Jr is the executive music producer for the series. "Apple bringing licensed content onto Apple TV Plus - something the company adamantly didn't incorporate into its original strategy - could help solve some of the streaming service's issues", it writes.

Fraggle Rock generally refused to oversimplify any individual issue, instead only showing the consequences and inherent difficulties of different actions and relationships.
