Eichel lets loose: Sabres captain `fed up’ with losing | Lexington Herald Leader

I want to win at everything I do.

"It would be a tough thing not to get motivated when he's speaking", Kyle Okposo said.

Fans have been frustrated with the Sabres for the last nine years, and that's a massive understatement.

The NHL will abandon the 2019-2020 regular season and resume with a 24-team playoff; former NHL goalie Kevin Weekes explains the format. It's been five years here, I haven't played in the playoffs, so it's hard.

While Edmonton's season has McDavid much more pleased with the direction of the Oilers, Eichel will likely need a similar season next year, or else the Sabres may face losing their face of the franchise. Head coach Ralph Krueger will also be retained for a second season, meaning any major change that comes this off-season will come at the player level.

"(Teams) are gaining valuable, valuable experience as a group.

The move does not mean that the units will be activated, but it is a first step toward doing so, officials said. Curfews were imposed and the National Guard deployed in several states.

It doesn't help Eichel knowing one more win before the season was paused in March would've made the difference.

Frustrations aside, Eichel enjoyed a breakout season that at one point had him in the MVP conversation. "I would enjoy coaching Risto next season", he said. He led the team and finished eighth in the National Hockey League with a career-best 36 goals, including nine game-winners, and 78 points in 68 games. When I began coaching him and I was the leader of that room, he was somebody who wanted to be traded and now he has embraced our path and he was all in on our pathway this year.

Though the Sabres endured lapses in consistency, Eichel credited Krueger for keeping the team focused through several rough stretches. This is what pushed me to find some humor in such a miserable spot and post the ad on Craigslist trying to sell the franchise to owners that care. The Sabres went on to lose six straight. I'd be lying if I said I'm not getting frustrated with the way things are going. There are hard times and he does an fantastic job bringing us back and narrowing our focus and getting back to where we need to be mentally. But yeah, I'm definitely not in the best place with the last moment he was and he's definitely worn on me. It's part of the business and I'm ready, whatever happens.

"I am a competitor", he said.

"I mean, I haven't seen it before or in Buffalo".
