Washington, Jun 2 (Prensa Latina) Autopsies have confirmed homicide in the case of African-American George Floyd, and put in question the authorities' version, amid a racial conflict that has sparked waves of protests in almost twenty cities in the United States.

"George Floyd should be alive", MDHR Commissioner Rebecca Lucero said in a news release. On Tuesday, Governor Tim Walz announced the state's Department of Human Rights was launching an investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department. We also saw the reaction of the community. He pointed to the deaths of Freddie Gray and Philando Castile, and the beating of Rodney King, as examples of cases where striking video of an incident did not lead to officers being convicted.

The coroner's report listed as the cause of death cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint and neck compression, and named other significant conditions, including arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease, fentanyl intoxication and recent use of methamphetamine.

An autopsy report by a medical examiner commissioned by George Floyd's family declared Floyd's death as mechanical asphyxiation.

"It will be part of the defense strategy to say they can't even get the cause of death right", said Gerald Lefcourt, a criminal defense attorney.
