Today evening in China, Vivo will be announcing the Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro smartphones. X50 Pro and X50 Pro+ both feature a periscope lens that supports 60x Hyper Zoom, and the main camera on X50 Pro+ features 1/1.3 inch ISOCELL GN1 sensor, leading to photos of breathtaking detail. Vivo X50 is also the slimmest 5G phone to date.

Light up the cities. "As the first X series products that will be made available to worldwide markets, we are excited to share the best of our innovative technology and design concepts with people around the world".

For Vivo, said experiments are usually test-driven first with its Apex series of concept phones, and the Apex 2020 that was previewed back in February showed what may be in store for Vivo's flagships this year. The Vivo X21 was the last X-series smartphone from the brand for India.

Vivo is also being cagey about the rest of the specs, confirming the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor only for the X50 Pro Plus. A fresh leak has carried the specifications of all three smartphones.

In terms of software features, all the X50 phones have Super Night Mode, Astro Mode, Super Wide-Angle, and Super Macro functions (yes, that's a lot of "supers"), which are fairly self-explanatory and on par what's offered on other recent flagship phones. Likewise, the X50 has a slightly smaller 4,200mAh battery which still supports 33W Vivo FlashCharge. It also features 32 megapxiels selfie camera. Moreover, the phone will be available in three colours - pink, black and blue. The 8GB/128GB X50 Pro model costs 4,298 yuan (roughly Rs 45,600), while the 8GB/256GB variant is priced at 4,698 yuan (roughly Rs 49,800). This technology should get popular soon as vivo has always been the trendsetter in the smartphone industry with its in-display fingerprint sensors to pop-up selfie cameras that showed up previously. Both of them support a 90Hz refresh rate for their displays with the vanilla x50 having a flat-screen and x50 Pro having a curved one. It was introduced at Rs. 35,990 and packs the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with 6GB of RAM. As for the Vivo X50 Pro, the handset houses a 48MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, 8MP periscope camera and 13MP portrait camera.

The main camera of the X50 Pro comes with a stabilization system modeled on a full-size professional gimbal, and which moves in the opposite direction of shaking motions to reduce image blur. It has a display that supports up to 120Hz refresh rate as well.

The sale starts on June 6th for the Vivo X50 & on June 12th for the Vivo X50 Pro. The telephone has an in-display fingerprint sensor and 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port for connectivity.
